I personally love Gmail the best. Their security sems to be very good, but who really knows??? but I am not real sure if the Comcast email or Comcast webmail security department is that strong but I feel comfortable that Gmail has gone to great lengths to make sure their customers that security is a top priority. Security personal at comcast.net must be in a real panic this morning with as many customers as they have that are probably feeling like someone is asleep at the wheel at Comcast.
Email security has been an issue for years and their have been many attempts to create a better mouse trap. I remember there is this email called the bat that is supposed to have a high level of security. In fact it was developed by a hacking company the founder of which got in some trouble a few years ago for his hacking activity. I think I have my facts straight but I could be mixing up some information in my head. But I do think that the bat email is supposed to have great security at least as opposed to other email programs out there.
The security at Comcast email was not the same as the security of the program on your computer so Comcast.net has a whole other set of issues that they are dealing with this morning. I mean not only have they got a whole boat load of upset Comcast email customers but they have spin control and then there is the security issue that must be addressed asap or else the customers are going to move on rather quickly.
I wonder what sort of customer base that Comcast email has anyway. Is it a group of people that don’t know anyother way to get their email or is there some advantage to having Comcast email? I know that with most cable providers there are two different ways you can get your email. One may seem like a higher level of security by actually having it download on your computer and the other is like gmail and yahoo and msn where you access their email through Comcast webmail by going to Comcast.net.
What ever the situation is this morning at Comcast email this should be a wakeup call to all of us that we need to be aware of security of our email. But in truth what are we going to do? I mean could I be the next victm of a hack like that at Comcast email??? I hope not.
