Prosecutors have dropped the original sentence of driving under the influence, and Carmel was sentenced to one year probation, 24 hours of service to the community and at least $1,000 in court costs and fines.
“I’m happy that it’s over so I get a chance to take care of my business,” Anthony said, now over 24.
Last April, the police in Denver saw Carmel Anthony on the Interstate weaving and he would not dim his lights, he also did not pass a bunch of sobriety tests given on the spot. It is unclear if LaLa Vazquez was with him at the time.
The Nuggets have suspended Carmel for two games after his April arrest. Following his sentence the Denver police made an announcement Carmel would take part in their “Alive at 25″ program, that targets good driving habits of young drivers under 25.
LaLa Vazquez did show up in court with him. The two have a 1-year-old son together.
